Meg is disliked by most everybody and not very good in school. Her mom says that she is very good in math, because her father used to teach her a lot of stuff with numbers, but that she had learned a lot of shortcuts, and a school when they had to do the problem the long way she would get stubborn and give up. She was very worried about her father being missing. She couldn't really stand to even think about it in the beginning of the book, but throughout the first four chapters she becomes more accustomed to the idea of him being missing. The only one that can really comfort her is Calvin O' Keefe. Her brother Charles Wallace can too, but Calvin O' Keefe isn't part of her family, and is the only non-family member that can really comfort her or will even talk to her. I think that throughout this book she will become a more outgoing person.
